ROMEGA Herring Caviar Oil is naturally rich in Phospholipid DHA (PL-DHA), Phospholipid EPA, and Choline — key nutrients that support the varying nutritional needs of different populations.

Norwegian spring-spawning herring has its main spawning off Møre during February–March, but spawning areas extends northwards to Vesterålen. The newly hatched larvae drift with the current northwards along the coast and into the Barents Sea during summer. After 3–4 years, the herring leaves the Barents Sea and migrates southward along the Norwegian coast to join the spawning stock.

Herring roe is a naturally ocurring and edible marine source of a number of bioactive substances including DHA, EPA, phospholipids and choline. These substances have been shown to be readily bioavailable.

All batches of herring roe are carefully examined and tested throughout the harvesting season to ensure that the quality of the herring roe meets our high quality standards. Through the process, samples are takes consistently to examine the size, color and water- and oil content.

The herring roe is carefully processed isolating the oil from proteins whilst ensuring that the product is not in contact with oxygen or unnecessary heat. This process enables us to create a product of premium quality.
