In 1990, Dr. Hogne started the research on herring seeds, and found that the phospholipids in herring seeds have unique biological activity, which can promote the nerve development of fish and mammals.

In 2000, Dr. Hogne and key team members began the separation and purification of phospholipid Omega-3 from herring seeds.

In 2010, the herring seed processing technology and quality control system were optimized to ensure the freshness of raw materials and the safety of products.

In 2011, ROMEGA was officially established, headquartered in Osta, on the west coast of Norway, with a highly educated Arctic nutrition research and development team from Europe and the United States.

In 2016, the first ROMEGA fish seed oil product was launched, and the innovative product rich in phospholipid Omega-3 became the choice of Norwegian citizens.

In 2019, it won the European Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Star Research and Development Award, and won a special fund to expand the research, development and application of ROMEGA products in the medical field.

In 2020, ROMEGA officially entered the Chinese market to provide better products and solutions for Chinese consumers.

In 2021, on February 24, 2021, Arctic Bioscience AS was listed on the European Stock Exchange under the stock code of ABS.

In 2023, Since entering the Chinese market, ROMEGA has conducted a number of clinical studies with the aim of providing a more scientific and suitable dietary nutritional programme for Chinese consumers.
